Cut The Cord To Save the Net
The FCC is moving forward to repeal net neutrality rules that protect a free and open internet. Cable companies such as Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Time Warner, and Dish are behind this disastrous idea.
Repealing net neutrality would mean that your cable/broadband provider would decide which websites you'd be allowed to access, and which will be blocked or slowed.
The Internet should be free, and you should have the choice of which websites you access. Kick these companies where it counts. Sign the petition and take the pledge to cancel your cable service and let your provider know exactly why. (See letter provided.) The average cable bill is over $100 per month. If 1 Million people cancel cable it costs these companies $1.2 Billion per year. And imagine what you can do with an extra $100 a month!!!
Please sign this pledge, and then call your cable company today to cancel your cable TV subscription. If cable offers the best Internet for you, you can keep your Internet service, but just cancel cable TV. Here are the phone numbers to call:
Comcast/Xfinity: 1 (800) 934-6489
Verizon FiOS: 1 (800) 837-4966
AT&T U-Verse: 1 (800) 288-2020
Time Warner Cable/Spectrum: 1 (800) 892-4357
Dish: 1 (800) 333-3474
DirecTV: 1 (800) 531-5000
SAMPLE LETTER TO SEND TO YOUR PROVIDER
Dear Cable Company,
A free and open internet where every website competes on the same terms is critical.
I'm very unhappy you are supporting and driving the FCC to overturn net neutrality rules that preserve the net. Therefore I am canceling my cable TV subscription. If I had a choice I would also choose a different internet provider.
Please cancel my cable TV service effective immediately.
