Friends of Jed Warren – we are trying to get a petition to the court asking them to sentence Jed to rehab (instead of jail) so he can get the help he needs. Please read and sign if you agree with the contents of the letter. Thanks so much.
To the Curry County Circuit Court:
We, the family and friends of Jedidiah Warren, are asking the court to sentence Jed to drug rehab, not jail, if found guilty of the crimes he was arrested for Oct. 4, 2020.
Those of us who know him well know him to be kind, generous, considerate, and loving. Because of his recent, more serious problems with drug addiction he is homeless and suffers from delusions and paranoia. He thinks people are out to harm him and takes measures to try and protect himself – ending up scaring people and becoming a nuisance.
We ask the court to have mercy and help him get the drug counseling that he needs. He should be in a residential program for as long as possible. Jed should be held accountable for his misdeeds, but he also deserves help and a chance to turn his life around so that he doesn't repeat these crimes.
Jed has helped many people in this community financially, spiritually, and with donated labor. When he is not on drugs he is a friend to all and a normal human being capable of working hard and being productive.
We only ask for this one chance to get Jed the help he needs. He cannot access this help himself while addicted to drugs – he cannot think logically or act reasonably or make proper decisions for himself.
His family has done everything they can – but the police, the County substance abuse people, everybody we turn to for help say they cannot do anything unless he is an imminent threat to others, or himself. Or if he asks for help himself, which he is incapable of doing while addicted to drugs.
Please sign this petition with your name and your relationship to Jed (family, friend, employer, etc.)
