Dear Trustees Cherrier, Blackman and Kuo,

We, the undersigned parents of children who are attending or have attended Dublin Unified School District, have composed this letter as an expression of a “Vote of No Confidence” in your leadership as DUSD Trustees. As a community, we understand the severity of this action and did not arrive at it hastily.

Dublin Unified has long been a district to be proud of, one of where decisions were made with the best interest of our students in mind. Throughout the past year we have had concerns regarding your leadership, specifically regarding trust, collaboration, decision making, vision, and your obvious lack of respect for staff and students. We also believe that you have failed to abide by the DUSD mission statement, which emphasizes the “Courage to Lead.”

Your role in the departure of Dr. Marken and the circumstances that forced his resignation was the final straw, demonstrating both your lack of leadership and complete disregard for our school community. Your willingness to force such a destabilizing action during such a critical and unprecedented time is the height of irresponsibility. You will not be able to fix what you have broken, and our students and community will pay the price.

Your actions over these past months have created a toxic environment for leadership and staff, and by extension, our students. We rely on our board members to have the best interests of all of our schools and students at heart. We simply don’t believe that you do.

For these reasons stated, we the undersigned are declaring “No Confidence” in your leadership as Trustees and hope and believe that as a leaders you will take this seriously and change course for the sake of this district.
