Cupeyville School Parents San Juan, PR started this petition to Cupeyville School Board of Directors

On January 6, 2019, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck Puerto Rico. Sadly, hundreds of homes, schools, roads, public buildings and other property were damaged. The Puerto Rico Department of Education is currently assessing damage to public schools with the help of engineers and subject matter experts in construction. The parents of Cupeyville School in San Juan, Puerto Rico demand that the school’s administration contract certified engineers to perform a thorough structural evaluation of the school’s facilities and submit their findings to parents. Our children’s safety is of the utmost importance and it is the school’s responsibility to ensure their well being while under their care. With the first day of school after winter break on Monday, January 13, we are demanding that the school have these evaluations completed before then or to move the first day of class until after the assessments are performed, findings are reported and any potential corrective actions are taken.
