Stop the Sale of Claremont Nursing Home

Stop the Sale of Claremont Nursing Home
Why this petition matters

In November, the Cumberland County Commissioners, Gary Eichelberger, Jean Foschi, and Vince DiFilippo, hired Susquehanna Group Advisors Inc. to facilitate the sale of Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
To many in the the Cumberland County community, this abrupt decision is deeply concerning and untimely. Please, join us in urging the Commissioners to reconsider this sale in the unsure times of a pandemic affecting the elderly population at an alarming rate.
The consideration of the sale at this time is having a detrimental effects on both the residents and their families as well as our healthcare heroes. Residents are worried that the caregivers which they trust may not be retained by a new owner. Our healthcare heroes need to take on the additional stress of not knowing if they will have a job with similar pay and benefits to support their families. Placing this additional stress on everyone at this time risks the health and safety of citizens of Cumberland County. It is simply unconscionable and does not represent the action of caring people.
We want more time and discussion on this topic at a later date when circumstances are not so dire, the pandemic is under control, and the decision can be thoroughly discussed and the public better informed.
