William Bell started this petition to JCBP Judicial Conduct Board of Pen

My name is William G. Bell, from Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

On May the 5th, I had a PFA hearing, via Zoom, at the Cumberland County Courthouse, located in downtown Carlisle, PA.
I’m not an Angel, but, It is my right to have a fair chance to represent myself.
Right off the bat, the Judge presiding, Judge Carrie E. Hyams, restricted any type of explanation, on my part, that would not suit her.
I represented myself, and she made sure that she took advantage of that.
Constantly interrupting, me...
Not paying attention when I was actually aloud to speak.  Erie stares at me when others involved where testifying. This Judge would constantly mute me, also, when it suit her. She even threatened to call security on me.
I knew with three women, and me, (my ex-wife, her lawyer, and Judge Hyams), that right away, it felt that I was doomed from the start. The hearing was just a formality.
This hypothesis came true when Judge Hyams, on my opportunity to ask questions, stated to me, and I quote.. “Mr. Bell, I’m going to keep you on a short leash.”
I could not believe what I just heard. Even my ex-wife’s reaction was of surprise and disgust.
This, stated by a female Judge, presiding over a PFA hearing, where the male is the defendant.
No doubt, this contributed to such a horrid statement..
What’s even worse?
Perhaps the fact that I’m half Filipino, and look Latino.
I’ve lived in Cumberland County, PA for over 20 years, felt at home, and belonged, until the last few, recent years.
It’s seems that the atmosphere, and treatment, towards certain demographics is becoming steadily hostile by the local Police Departments, and now, The Judicial system.
It’s now a reality, and I’m no longer surprised.
Judge Hyams is just the latest example of this...

It’s a shame that I’m getting used to it...
My brown skin, jet black hair, and being male, in my opinion, is the reason that a horrible comment can be so easily said to me by this Judge.

I’m going to keep you on a short leash??

Why? Because all men are dogs?
Why? Because minorities, and humans, that look like me, shouldn’t be aloud to speak?
We’re ignorant, trouble makers, and shouldn’t dare live in Cumberland County??

I was in the running two years ago, in the same courthouse for jury selection for a baby murderer, back in October, 2019.
Judge Placey showed much respect, and professional conduct, towards everyone equally. Even the defendant...
I’m nearly 50 years old.
I’m also a retired State Corrections Officer that served nearly 18 years at State Correctional Facility at Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
I just didn’t fall off the pineapple truck...
I know and feel, a racist and misandry when I come across one.
Unfortunately, today.....
It was a Judge named Carrie E. Hyams.

This unfair treatment has also resulted in a casualty. I cannot retrieve my Puppy that I’ve owned for over 7 years. He’s been at my ex-wife’s house for nearly two months. This was supposed to be temporary because of house construction, on my part.
When I mentioned this to Judge Hyams, she didn’t care at all. Once again...No Empathy!!!

The simple fact that someone with such ignorance, and non-empathy, was elected, then sworn to such a position of power and trust, is just one of numerous examples of inequalities current minorities have to face, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

What about the future Generations??

Enough of the hate... Period.
