The students of Culpeper county public schools that go to EV and FTB riding bus 25 2nd run which includes the areas of Germana highway, the lignum area, (Edwards shop road, revercomb road) have recently had a change of buses with some of them going to bus 37, some to bus 24, and possibly another bus. By riding these buses, the students got home between 2 hours and 45 minutes earlier and got on the bus later in the morning, resulting in more time to sleep, which is extremely necessary for people that age. (Key Points at the end) Also, by getting home earlier, they have more time for their personal life and to do their homework. It was unnecessary time at school not learning and less time on the bus. The students had to wait at school an hour to get on the bus. The students being on different buses was much more efficient. Bus 24 already passed the houses of some of the students that ride 25 earlier in the afternoon and later in the morning. By riding the different buses split from 25 there were fewer people on 25. 25 had a lot of people, 3 people to a seat in some places and every seat had at least 2 people. With that, the bus ride was very uncomfortable. On bus 24 for instance most people only had one person to a seat with just a few people being 2 to a seat. According to the mitigation plan concerning COVID-19 unsafe practices were being observed. Some students on 25 did not have assigned seats as stated in the mitigation plan, increasing the risk of getting COVID-19. Because of 25 doing 2 runs, students had to get off at FTB and wait for a bus to take them to EV. Students had a much better attitude towards school because of the less time waiting for a bus after school and the having more time at home to be able to have personal life activities and having more sleep. Having more sleep means students are more willing to learn and better at learning because they are less tired and able to retain information easier. For the students that live on Edwards shop, bus 24 already passed their house and that bus had a lot fewer people on it. According to simple logic, the students should ride the bus that has fewer people and already passes their house later in the morning, so students can get more sleep, And earlier in the evening giving students more time at home to spend with their family. Compared to another bus that has more people and gets the students home 2 hours after school closes. The obvious choice would be the first bus in the scenario I just stated. Overall, it makes more sense for the students to get on the split buses from 25 because it makes more sense. Again, the reasons for this are…

1. students have more time at home (they get home earlier and have more time to sleep in the morning.)(Students don’t wait at school for an hour for the bus to come)

2. The buses the students newly started riding that were split from 25 have fewer people.

3. Less time riding the bus.

4. Busses with fewer people that pass the house of students should transport them instead of a bus that has more people.

5. More space on the bus so fewer people are close contacts if someone contracts COVID-19

6. Fewer people make fewer people with 3 to a seat, so the ride is more comfortable. (Everybody on bus 25 was at least 2 people to a seat, not the case on the buses that students riding 25 were told to ride.)(Some people were 3 to a seat, middle school and high school students are much bigger than elementary school students so 3 to a seat doesn’t even really work because the 3rd person is almost off the seat.)

As someone who rides bus 25, we all noticed that when we rode the different buses that already passed our houses at a more reasonable time that it makes more sense.

Thank you for your time reading this, and please sign this to help me change this to the more sensible option.
