I met some people from Boulder years ago working in the UK, sounded a nice place, never did make it, you don't deserve this! Milo is what the more sane of us in the UK politely call a 'tosser'. That unfortunately is not good enough legal grounds for banning him from speaking, but it's good to get some perspective on him. I would also suggest someone investigates his UK bedfellows online (eg Iain Davis) who are less flamboyant but probably more dangerous. The latter I believe has commented on Milo's posturing before eg in the UK Guardian.

This hateful muckraker is a shitbag.

This guy is full of hate! Bad for everyone to give him a voice!

As a long time resident of the city of Boulder:
I do NOT want this hatred in my city. Do not let him appear at CU.

After the shooting last night i am shocked that CU is still giving a known provocateur the opportunity to preach his insulting divisive hate speak. What would it take to use common sense to protect our children from this ridiculousness that is meant to do nothing more than antagonize and insight violence? A massacre? The violence left in his wake should be more than enough reason to stop this event. To what end will a group that seeks to expose those they dont agree with as bad professors who simply arent sympathetic to conservatives, but insists this talk is free speech? They contradict their very own argument. Whos next the KKK? A sanctioned cross burning? Sad CU has slipped so far.

What milo says is hate speech and no decent person should say or listen to his lies and propaganda

Because I had enough of hate speech normalized for the sake of free speech and freedom of expression. I understand the at times frustration with PC speech and resulting need for self-censorship, but I also understand that ATTACKING PEOPLE FOR FUN like this man is doing and has been the horror (not hallmark) of the 2016 campaign is WHY we have developed and are promoting the idea of safe spaces and put restrictions on free speech. There is little I can do to protect the rest of the country from following in Trumps footsteps and consider it normal to spot slogans that mean nothing, lie about facts and call people names but NOT ON MY CAMPUS!

I am all in support of the debate BETWEEN US STUDENTS about what is and isn't politically correct about speech and how students who are NOT disadvantaged in terms of minority or sexual orientation might be feeling oppressed by having to conform to guidelines they frequently don't understand the need for, because they never had been subjected to being the TARGET of attacks, jokes or disparagement those fellow student (and people) who are minorities or LGBTQ have to deal with on daily bases.

I can understand who some people - a very small part of our CU community - might be feeling that with safe spaces and talk about aggressions and maybe actually having been accused of racism or sexism those people see the ideas of spread by this Milo Yiannopolous as "refreshing, contentious way" as Chris Kohl, president of CU College Republicans put it. Maybe they find it "refreshing" that bigotry and hateful ideas can now be spoken openly. Two things to those people, you are not and never will be half-Jewish gay man, so while you might wish you could be free to express the kind of sentiments Milo is spouting especially about women, you an average white male (just an educated guess of majority of people his ideas appeal to) will never be socially accepted if you do. And that's why I really want to get this cancer called Milo Yiannopolous of my campus. I don't want anyone getting the idea that his ideas are NORMAL and supporting the event as "free speech" normalizes both his ideas and behavior.

There two more things that bother me:
1. Who is paying for this event? Booking Milo Yiannopolous cost between $7000 and $10,000 depending the size of the audience. It better not be MY student fees!
2. I hope the two student organizations raised their OWN funds and are paying the University for the use of the space and any additional resources for this visit, because once again I don’t want ANY of MY student fees to support this event. You want him you pay for it!

He is a racist, sexist man who promotes sensationalism rather than reporting.

I am CU alum, and still live and work in Boulder. I am disgusted with the university for allowing this-- HATE should never be confused with "freedom" and given a platform by a university.

Boulder is a town of acceptance and love. It will also cause disturbances on campus & in town with protesters.
