The students and teachers of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School should not be required to wear masks for the 2021-2022 school year. Not only do the high school students have the opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine, they also deserve a choice on the matter based on certain personal and familial needs. Recent data has shown that vaccinated individuals are very unlikely to catch and spread the virus. Therefore, it’s unnecessary for the many vaccinated students to have to wear masks in school. We hope the School Board will hear our voices and opinions on this topic and consider them alongside their own. On the behalf of PW students and families, please revisit your decision and save our school year.
