Cruise Companies, please reconsider the ban on bringing Drones aboard

We, the many drone owners who enjoy cruising, are looking for cruise lines to come up with a more amicable approach than banning drones entirely from being brought aboard the ship. We urge you to find a way that makes the cruise line feel that they are assuring the safety of the ship and its passengers while also allowing passengers to bring drones with them for the exclusive use while off the ship at ports of call.

I believe that it is completely reasonable for a cruise line to ban the flight of drones on the ship while in port or at sail. What I don't agree with is the line preventing passengers from being able to take advantage of owning a drone and utilizing it for video and photo footage at many or all of the ports or call.

One suggestion would be to have the drone held by the ship upon checkin and returning to the ship at a port of call. Somewhat like a coat check. You get a tag that is assigned to you for your drone. This way the cruise ship accomplishes the goal that was intended while not preventing drone consumers, who are also paying passengers, from being able to take advantage of their drone to collect enhanced video a photographic memories of their many ports of call. If you think about this they already do something like this for alcohol that is purchased duty free or while at an international port of call. They hold it for you.
