The Town and all Elk Avenue restaurants are at serious risk of losing the awesome street seating that has been implemented in CB over the last few years.
It may seem trivial, but we have to decide what kind of vibe and experience we are providing in CB. Would you rather dine outside, with your dog, in the sunshine, fresh air, with beautiful views and great people watching, or do you want to sit inside during a beautiful summer day in the mountains?
If this is taken away it would have many negative impacts on local businesses, employees, the look and feel of the town, and the guest experience, as there is potential to lose 400+ seats on Elk Avenue causing crowded dining rooms, very long wait times to get a table, let alone your food, dogs stuffed in hot cars for long periods of time, and a far less pedestrian friendly downtown.
Please sign this petition to inform our Town Council that there is overwhelming support for this improved community asset and enhanced customer experience of dining outside in the summer in Crested Butte. We are at risk of debilitating an already fragile hospitality and service industry that so many locals in the community depend on.
