Why this petition matters

Started by Ashwin V

The coding club at Hopkins is currently discriminating against boys and LGBTQIA+ students. Their intentions are good, as they’re empowering girls to code. And that would be ok if there was a gender-neutral coding club. My friend tried to make a gender-neutral club, but all of the staff refused to be advisor for such a club. So boys and LGBTQIA+ students don’t have a coding club to join! We would like to fix this problem, and anything like this that may come up in the future. We want Mr. Corey Brown, principal of Hopkins, to make sure boys, girls, and LGBTQIA+ students each have a club to join for each topic. This can be achieved through either integration or segregation. The ProjectCSGirls club is ok, but the fact that there is no gender-neutral coding club is NOT ok! Please sign if you want all genders to have a coding club to join!
