New Plymouth currently has only a Mixed summer league that hosts rules outside of a normal basketball game which makes it less enjoyable for people who play basketball.

with men unable to guard women and 2 women having to be on the court at all times it creates 2 unenjoyable situations 

1. if you have competitive women ballers they will blow out the other team.

2. with men unable to guard 2 of the 5 players correctly it creates a weird stand around the situation when women have the ball, or where good women players can use you as basically a moving screen knowing you cant defend their shot.

after getting feedback every year and seeing this lack of enthusiasm in some games across multiple players and teams I am keen to get Taranaki basketball to create a separate men's only basketball league over the summer or mixed but with normal rules and no defensive restrictions.
