Recently a 9 year old boy was knocked down and killed on Sutton lane, due to this I have put together this petition as part of my active citizenship GCSE to change the speed limit on Sutton lane from 60mph to 25mph to prevent people from racing into Sutton-in-craven. This petition is also to have speed bumps and speed cameras put in on ellers road to stop cars from using the small village lane as a rat run to cut through the village at high speeds, another perk of stopping this would reduce noise at night as loud cars would not come racing through the village waking the residents. Recently residents have been woken up from cars speeding through and breaking the rules of the road, this petition will stop this from happening and make Sutton-in-craven a happier safer place for everyone.
