In the midst of the pandemic, many people have gone through various physical, mental, as well as emotional challenges. For university students, it has been especially challenging transitioning and adjusting to an online platform simultaneously trying to balance the overwhelming workload, their mental well-being, as well as revolving issues occurring over the past two years.

It was promised to UofT students that school would be resumed back into in-person two weeks into the first semester. However, students returned back online 3 months into the school year. In particular, many students had hoped to choose in-person lecture sessions due to the severe lack of motivation and productivity to continue classes at home.

At the end of 2021, UofT announced that all code F courses will be able to CR/NCR without academic penalty. However, there was no consideration given to those who are taking code Y courses which relatively have double the content as code F or S courses causing enormous amounts of stress. It is disheartening to say that the well-being of these students was in fact neglected. Students who have suffered through the year are expected to be actioned the same level of effort and performance as if they were not affected by the epidemic.
