Its unfair as well above the CPI how do they expect people to pay when wages do not increase by that amount

We do not need a rate rise as we have very little services here in Fern BAY

We would find it very difficult to pay the extra rates due to financial commitments... the raising and educating of our children. There are so many State Grants that Council could apply for but they have mentioned that it was sometimes a wasted effort, as you aren't always successful.
Our family is part of a community group and yes you don't win every grant but you persist. Councils spending on the SRV could of been spent on a Grant Writing Team instead of a marketing team.
The new rate rise would put our family unit under more financial stress.
Council could offer a discount to those families who pay their rates on time that would help relieve some of our stress.

I signing this petition because the increase will result in hefty rent rises for the thousands of hard-working tenants who reside in the Port Stephens municipality.

When will PSC start to listen to it's community, of which THEY serve. People are struggling now with the cost of living, but the Mayor can only see the future if Nelson Bay. This rate rise is NOT the time, have a heart and show compassion to your community

I don't believe that Port Stephens Council is justified in asking for such a large rate rise.
