I am sadden by some of the stories of child abuse and the way the child is failed multiple times by organizations said to be in place to stop abuse.  Some of these social workers have multiple children to see and the excessive case load does not allow them to save some of these children. Social workers are also not adequately trained because the system is over flowing with cases and they are rushed to let that brand new social worker make life changing decisions. Let’s have  CPS ( child protected services) hire more Social Workers to help each child suspected of abuse get the attention he or she needs. Also make it a law for each child suspected of abuse to get sent by the Social Workers as part of their policy to get seen by a license physician or advance practitioner to collaborate abuse if suspected. Professional clinicians are crucial to determining abuse. Psychologist, general physicians and practitioners should be utilized. I am sure medical students and advance practitioner students would love to work for CPS to complete their medical training, let’s utilize these as resources. Lets stop the pattern of reporting and it going unnotice . Let’s stop child abuse one child at a time.
