Congress Park Off-Leash Dog Park: Located in South-West Corner

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Congress Park does not have a walkable Off-Leash Dog Park.  The goal is to find a suitable location for an Off-Leash Dog Park that will allow residents of the Congress Park Neighborhood to walk their dogs from home and allow them to socialize with other dogs.

There was an Off-Leash Dog area at Josephine and Colfax that was an appropriate size, but it will be reduced to only a quarter acre when the Rec Center is complete. There is room in the South-West corner of Congress Park for an area that will be 0.5 acres or more. There are two potential locations, however both would require to simply relocate the painted lines for the soccer field in the South-West Corner about 20 yards.  To be clear, the goal is to retain the soccer field, but simply shift it 20 yards East or West.

It will also be safer walking to Congress Park from within the neighborhood than crossing streets like Colfax to get to other Off-Leash areas. We'll also decrease traffic by being able to walk to a park instead of driving.

If you support the addition of a dog park to our wonderful neighborhood, please sign the petition!

Signing only indicates support of an Off-Leash Dog Park. The logistics will be worked out after support is obtained.
