Our community has wide rolling roads with a posted speed limit of 50 km/h. Due to the design of the road it frequently happens that traffic exceeds the posted limit. This poses a danger to children and pedestrians who are either forced to walk on the road due to lack of sidewalks, or immediately adjacent to the road on a narrow sidewalk. A community effort of donated “drive slowly” signs has popped up with no effect.

We request that the posted speed limit within our community be reduced to 30 km/h. This is a speed which has been proven to reduce the frequency of incidents and reduce the chance of serious injury or death.
