Jeff Rosa started this petition to Coventry Town Council

As a senior at Coventry High School who has played sports their entire life, senior year is the most anticipated year for every athlete. You become the leader of the team, and everyone is looking up to you, i know for a fact that sports alone are the driving force to make certain students pay attention in class. Without sports, many students years will be incomplete. I know that almost every athlete, and their families want to have sports this year, as it is what makes their kid strive in school. I understand you have to take safety measure into account, but we can play sports, and go to school in person with doing these precautions. Nothing will ever be perfect, and the infection rate wont’t be 0, and it will never be like that until we see a vaccine. So lets go out, play sports, and go to school as 99% of the Coventry High students would like to, along with their families. Parents need to work, and when their 4-10 year old kids have to do online school, it either forces them to stay home, or spend unnecessary money on a babysitter. Also, while doing online learning, no student feels a true connection with his teacher/ and classmates. It also makes learning nearly impossible, and will only lead to an extreme amount of cheating. With all this being said, i know my parents didn’t pay taxes to the town of Coventry to watch their kid have his senior year from his bed. Thank you.
