Opposition to The Del Dios Ranch Cluster Development

Currently, the owners of the Del Dios Ranch (located between El Camino Del Norte and Vista Rancho Court) are hoping to transform the 160 acre citrus farm area next to Del Dios Highway into a residential development area. Their plan is to build 91 clustered homes anywhere between 0.33 to 2.2 acres here.
Although the developers have the right to develop and achieve the highest and best use of their own private property, we as neighbors are very concerned:
1) Smaller lots and smaller homes are not consistent with the general architectural characteristics of RSF's neighborhoods. The minimum lot-size requirement for the area in question is 2 acres.
2) This 91-home development could set the precedent for future cluster developments in Rancho Santa Fe.
2) The current map shows that the developers are placing their main access road (entry and exit) off of Del Dios, which could introduce incredible and potentially hazardous strain on an already jam-packed highway.
Through this petition, we hope as neighbors to show the tangible harm involved in this project. The Del Dios Ranch development can create real, long-term, and negative consequences for Rancho Santa Fe.
