I created this petition because I am currently concerned about police conduct towards citizens and vice versa. I am also concerned about the relationship between the police force and the local citizens. Currently, over 50% of white folks feel safe around the police and less than 30% of people of color feel safe around police in their community (MSNBC News). On behalf of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, Ahmaud Arbery, Eric Garner, Treyvon Martin, Tamar Rice, Botham Jean, Michael Brown, Atatiana Jefferson, Stephon Clark and their families and many more I demand that county executives and US mayors read President Obama’s Taskforce Guidelines on Policing in the 21st Century:

Then I demand that they make an executive order for the police chief and police force to read it and use it to improve or completely change the current police local guidelines, training, conduct and relationships between the police and folks of a variety of races in the towns, villages, townships and cities they live in. Together we can create a harmonious and stress free society for all citizens. It starts with progressive vision and action from this vision from our local leaders (county executives, mayors, chief of police, and police force).
