Zero tolerance of bullying in all high schools and sixth forms

Zero tolerance of bullying in all high schools and sixth forms
All high schools, six form and colleges etc.. should have a zero tolerance of bullying policy instead of an anti bullying policy which is not adhered to. There is not enough done to protect children from bullying & it’s consequences. A good telling off is not sufficient, a clear message to parents and children should be in place. Bully and your out!
The NHS and many organisations have zero tolerance policies in place, So why not in schools. Not enough is done in schools to educate children regarding the risks of bullying. Children should also be taught that crowding around watching and laughing as a child is being bullied is not socially acceptable. As it stands now, bullies know they can get away with it. They know they will get a telling off, or be excluded from certain areas of school premises. They don’t care! In the mean time their victims have to continue going to school knowing the perpetrator/perpetrators are still in the school, which in itself is very upsetting and traumatic for the bullied child. Self-esteem and confidence are damaged and take a lot of work to rebuild. It’s time parents take a stand against this dreadful aspect of school life.
