Help single parents in the rental market

I am a single parent. I work every hour God sends to support my 2 children. I also feel I have a right to suitable housing. Currently I am earning "too much" to qualify for council housing yet when I go to view a private rental property which I know I can afford, I am discounted as a less desirable tenant as I am a single parent therefore I am obviously unable to pay my rent and bills. I am calling on the English government, landlords, letting agents and councils to help single parents who work hard, save hard, and are able to support themselves with the help of the benefits they are entitled to, as we are facing discrimination that is unnecessary and unjust. I am no less of a person just because I am a single parent. Being a single parent does not mean I will default on my rent and bills. Me and my children deserve to have safe suitable accommodation just like a couple and their children.
