I am wanting all social workers in the uk to wear body cams for all home visits of familys and doing so will safeguard not only the family but also social workers themselves.  At the moment a social worker can do a home visit and say anything they like without any evidence to back up what they are saying and even be used i court and they nothing parents can do as the social workers are always automatically belived for example saying a parent was hostile/ intimidating or saying certain home conditions are not acceptable ect. Sometimes however parents can also lie saying the social worker said or did things that isnt true.  With body cams you can literally see home conditions and hear everything that was said and how it was said wich could make a major difference in what happens in that familys case.  Of course just like all the written reports all body cam footage will be kept 100% private and confidential but can be used as actual real evidence so the courts have a much better idea of what is the truth and what is not as no one can lie about anyone and in turn will be very beneficial to the outcome of childrens plans and future.  As above at the moment a social worker can say anything they want in reports and court with very little to no evidence whatsoever and they are always believed because they are supposed to be professionals and sadly that is just not always the case, of course they are professionals but they are also human beings and human beings can  not only get things terribly wrong but they can also lie and manipulate to get the result they want wich isn't always the right one and can seriously not only damage but out right destroy childrens entire childhoods.  Body cams can and would make such a difference to making sure children get the best care and best future.
