Woodhead Medical Practice have announced they intend to withdraw their Wednesday satellite surgery from Twechar Healthy Living Centre.

The plan to move to a Kirkintilloch-only operation would be devastating for Twechar residents who fought hard for GP services in the area. It would also make healthcare inaccessible for those unable to travel due to poor transport links.

Councillor Stewart MacDonald has stood with the community and led calls for services to be maintained. He said that if the closure went ahead it would be a "kick in the teeth" for local residents, whilst Neil Bibby MSP added that the closure must be resisted as it was part of a wider "cuts and centralisation agenda from the Scottish Government which has seen many NHS services lost in communities across West Scotland."

We're calling on the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership to prevent this planned withdrawal and keep GP services local in Twechar. Please support this campaign.
