Grange Hill Bio-diversity Group started this petition to Councillor Phil Davies

These Installations will affect the lizards, birds, bats, badgers and other protected species which exist on the hill. The radiation, as well as year-round lighting will also negatively impact birds/moths/bees/insects etc. There is a history of destroyed bat roosts and tarmacking/ along with mass tree fellings and vegetation slash and burn of swathes of valuable habitat (which has dismissively and wrongly referred to as 'scrub' by Council Officers) across Grange Hill over recent years.

The monument was placed amongst natural habitat and ecology of West Kirby. If it had been intended to be lit and filmed (etc) it would have been situated in the town centre. As it is, the position is currently conducive to reflective peace and existing WITHIN nature not against it. We must do everything possible to protect our environment and natural habitats both on Grange Hill and across the Wirral. This includes reducing light pollution and wireless radiation sources.

Thank you for your support - Grange Hill Bio-diversity Group
