It's about time those decision makers who believe making cuts like this will benefit any one at all. Really is this what we have been reduced to in Bromley. At least make it so these kind of services are given a fighting chance to continue the work they do rather than this kind of narrow minded axing with a blunt instrument. Shameful

My two children have learned both music and other invaluable lessons at BYMT. Bromley council should be proud of it's contribution to the education of Bromley young people and double its grant. Shame on anyone who votes to cut this fantastic service.

BYMT put the first horn in my hand, gave me countless hours of training and encouragement and introduced me to lifelong friends. It is because of BYMT that I am now a professional musician on the international circuit working with Sting, the London Symphony Orchestra, and now a full time position in Sweden

Music should not be the preserve of the wealthy and a world without music is an impoverished world

It is an absolute disgrace to remove it is not only a lifeline for many young people but to take such drastic measures like this instead of supporting the next generation of not only musicians but the means to reach young people through music----a crying shame

BYMT is an excellent service which provides opportunities for thousands of Bromley youngsters. All research shows the benefits of a high quality music education on the academic achievement of students, apart from raising self esteem and encouraging them to make a positive contribution to our society. The music service is the envy of the country. I work in the borough and see the benefits in the students I teach. I have chosen to live in Bromley so my daughter has access to these opportunities. It is a flagship for the borough and the council would be withdrawing funding for a major facility for our children. It is part of the public face of Bromley that the council should be proud of and support.

Access to high quality extra curricular activities are essential to a child's development. The skills learnt via these institution are not just related to music, but are skills which can be utilised throughout their adult lives. It would be a great shame to deny the youth of Bromley of this wonderful, long-running trust.

This is a disgraceful move by the council. Music making should be available to all.
