Reverse the £3 million budget cut to the new Blairgowrie Recreation Centre.

Under the previous SNP council, £17.7 million of funding had been allocated towards building a future-proofed, state-of-the-art recreation centre in Blairgowrie, Perthshire's largest town.

In this year's capital budget, the current Tory council chose to cut £3 million of funding from this important project. This cut will have a significant impact upon the facilities offered at the centre. Under the Tory proposals, the centre will be 800 square metres smaller, lack swimming facilities suitable for coaching and competition, offer no soft play provision and no cafe area.

We call upon the Tory council to reverse the £3 million budget cut and reinstate the original plans for Blairgowrie Recreation Centre, which were significantly bolder in terms of scale and ambition.
