Alberta Anti Hate Conference, First Nations Genocide - Resolution for Federal Election 2021
1. Federal government and all political candidates needed to recognize First Nations genocide in Canada and implement justice measures as outlined by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) which was adopted by the General Assembly on September 13, 2007.2. Anyone who denies First Nations genocide and effects of Residential Schools and Cultural Genocide that took place should have the same cultural, legal and social consequences as the denial of the Jewish Holocaust.3. Stronger laws and policies are required combat hate crimes by all levels of government, police organizations and justice systems.
