Give homeless people a safe space and the chance to learn life skills

Teaching homeless people life skills in a safe environment, such as budgeting and cooking, will enable them to benefit sustainably from housing opportunites through organisations and charities such as solo housing. Equipping volunteer groups with the space and training to provide life skills with the support of the council would also increase community engagement and provide a positive structure. Doncaster has many empty buildings that could be utilised to provide a safe and secure space for homeless people on a permanen basis. It also has the long-term potential to reduce homelessness, which is a consistent issue in Doncaster.
