Immediate Registration of Councillor M Shafiq Dogar
Mayor Sandy Bowman and Indigenous leaders across Wood Buffalo are demanding Councillor M Shafiq Dogar resign after accusations that Indigenous People come to Fort McMurray to get drunk, fight or cause legal problems during a public meeting.
During the RMWB Public Budget Meeting held on Feb 03, 2022, Councillor Kendrick Cardinal motioned the administration to investigate how the municipality can support the calls National Inquiry for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s calls to action. During the open debate, Councillor Dogar remarks that he did not support the motion as Indigenous People do not live in Fort McMurray. He adds he has only seen Indigenous People in town when they are drinking, fighting or causing legal problems.
The Fort McKay Métis Nation is requesting your support and action to ensure the immediate registration of Councillor Dogar.
