The concrete at Kent Street Skate park is lifting make it difficult to skate, The rails are bent and in whole the area in Rundown, With graffiti. I love to skate and I am still learning however this skate park needs sorting. Not may use it anymore and in my personal experience, there are a select few who choose to ruin it for the people who do. Under the ramps are cigarette buts and litter left behind by people who go there to smoke (Not just tobacco) and every now and again there is a group of youths who play loud music (This I do not have an issue with as it is nice to have music whilst skating) But there are kids who use this park and not all the music is kid-friendly. As I previously mentioned the concrete over at the half-pipe is lifting meaning there is a small bump as you hit the floor, this makes it even more dangerous as bikes and scooters may not have an issue skateboards clip them and throw the riders forward. There is a small rail at the right side of the park this has been bent and whilst I do understand that over time this will happen from the wear and tear of skating. I think it needs looking at. I have seen a few members of the public cleaning the litter from the football and basketball area, They should not have to do this, the bins are destroyed and I don't think I have actually seen a single person monitoring the park. I think the park could do with the concrete fixing and maybe the graffiti covering, even if it's by more graffiti by an actual artist as at the moment its words and profanities scribbled on by youths. I am hoping that this petition will get the council to listen and sort it out, making this park more skater friendly and hopefully look a little better and less of an Eyesore.
