Council Recall- Councilwoman Hemann Ward 4

Council Recall- Councilwoman Hemann Ward 4
Why this petition matters
July 5, 2022, the North Olmsted City Council decided to vote in favor of moving our city's dispatch to Chagrin Valley Dispatch. Despite hours of concerned citizens speaking in front of council, four members still decided to vote yes. This will impact North Olmsted's first responders and it's citizens dramatically. We will no longer have dispatcher who 1) know our streets 2) care about each individual call 3) be able to dispatch and coordinate with first responders quickly. Our dispatchers are crucial to the safety of our city because they are the first ones to respond to our calls for help. They have extreme knowledge of our city that they can dispatch help without even knowing an address. They can identify where someone is based off descriptions within seconds. Out sourcing rids our city of dispatchers who know our city and streets. The city council believes that Chagrin Valley Dispatch is better because of their technology and believe it will save the citizens of North Olmsted money. They neglected to listen to the concerns of citizens and dispatchers. They even neglected a dispatcher from another city who had worked at Chagrin Valley. She had talked about her time there as stressful and chaotic. Councilman Glassburn and Scarl, Councilwomen Hemann and Gilchrist neglected every citizen when they voted yes to move our dispatch. It is time to make a stand and not wait until the next election. We need to recall these four council members before they can make more decisions that will harm our city. These council members are willing to put their citizens safety at risk. We voted them in and at the meeting they did not seem to care about anything that people talked about. We pay them and they work for us. They made their decision based now what they wanted and not what their constituents wanted.
