TRAVEL BAN FOR 317 NRM MPS WHO SUPPORTED REMOVAL OF AGE LIMIT FROM UGANDA CONSTITUTION

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

On 20 December 2017, Three hundred and seventeen (317) NRM members of parliament after accepting a bribe of $10,000 each, changed Uganda’s constitution and removed the age limit of 75  years for presidential candidates.

This action was done with impunity and the majority of Ugandans did not support it but it was done anyway. It means President Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled for more than 34 years, can seek re-election in 2021 and beyond. The current state inspired violence, brutality and excessive force used against journalists, opposition leaders and students, including the rape of university students by rogue soldiers  and other security personnel is a result of what the legislators did because President Museveni wants to stay on whatever the means.

These legislators should not be allowed to travel freely throughout the world while Ugandans continue to be suffocated by a man who came to power in 1986 saying that the problem of Africa were leaders who overstay in power and 34 years later he is still brutalizing the members of  opposition and journalists so as to remain in power.

To show how unpopular their action was, the debate to remove age limit was marred by violence as the attached video shows.

I am therefore appealing to you to slap a travel ban on all 317 NRM legislators who brought this problem on Uganda.

Uganda will thank you
