Why this petition matters
Council's current revised plans for the Fitzroy Gardens Playground, Kings Cross, feature planters and other elements in a stark white, sharp-edged minimalist design. This design is out-of-character with the colours and materials of the rest of the heritage-listed Fitzroy Gardens, which is celebrated for its earthen colours, soft-edged naturalism, and unique brick and tile materials. Council's current plans will lead to an ugly mish-mash of styles, which could be partly avoided by the plans being changed to include colours and materials similar to those of the rest of the Gardens.
