People with disabilities, their family, and friends have an aggregate income of over 1trillion dollars. Contrary to popular belief people with disabilities are fashion consumers.

Letter to
Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)
You offer so many wonderful programs; can you please create a program that teaches designers how to design clothing for people with disabilities? All people with disabilities are not disabled. According to the CFDA mission statement, one of the organizational goals is to “advance artistic and professional standards within the fashion industry”. A CFDA program teaching designers how to design clothing for people with disabilities would definitely advance artistic and professional standards, as well as help make the fashion industry more inclusive. If you were a person with a disability, what options would you want?

Thanks so much for your consideration.
