“The North Coast is the epicenter for cannabis cultivation in America and it has been critical that as state regulations are implemented, the North Coast is driving the conversation. The proposed new rules and regulations that are embedded within the budget will enhance environmental protections, advance local control for cities & counties and ensure the health and safety of consumers is priority number one as we continue to move this multi-billion dollar industry into the light.” Senator Mike McGuire
The owners of the Citrus smoke shop on Mendocino in downtown Santa Rosa would like to offer cannabis at a new location near their current smoke shop location. This proposed cannabis retail outlet would be licensed by the California Bureau of Cannabis Control and meet with all City requirements. The downtown location would offer a clean and safe place to purchase cannabis for responsible customers.
Buying cannabis became legal under California law for adults 21 or older- January 1, 2018. The City of Santa Rosa allows cannabis to be sold in most commercial districts but excludes retail in downtown.
We, the undersigned, ask the City of Santa Rosa to allow for retail cannabis within the downtown commercial district.
