Schools are shut, and students are stranded at home, with extremely limited contact with friends and virtually no physical activity, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic raging across the world. IB, A Levels, ICSE, CBSE all known and recognized boards have postponed examinations.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has made it clear that it is not possible to conduct Class 10 board examinations amid the nationwide lockdown. Talking about the Class 10 board exams, CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said the remaining exams were of 'small subjects'. He said these subjects could be evaluated on the basis of the candidate's performance in the internal assessment and other such parameters. He said the results could be compiled on the pro-data basis.
ICSE board, however, had denied the possibility of cancellation of the pending board exams and had released a circular stating that the exams would be held within a period of 6-8 days most probably after lockdown.
"Coronavirus pandemic is affecting all students across the country. Students are facing troubles and are pressurized. The Student Population in India is nearly 34 crores and the government should safeguard the students.
Our Goal is not to get escaped from Board Exams but to protect ourselves from the Corona Virus.
We kindly Request you to cancel all the ICSE board exams which are pending and promote all the students throughout India.
