Stop the Harkness Ave Rezoning
This petition had 520 supporters
The City of Cottage Grove wants to cram 543 new housing units (villas, townhomes and apartments) into the small amount of greenspace that's left between Harkness Ave and Hardwood Ave in Cottage Grove. This is an area where currently wildlife (deer, turkeys, fox and more) thrive, and people can enjoy a scenic walk just steps from their front door. The City wants to rezone this area to be medium and high density residential in order to then bulldoze it and put in 543 new housing units. The City currently has PLENTY of open/cleared land that can be developed, why do we need to develop every small parcel of land remaining in this City for housing . Also, if high density affordable housing is in such demand, why has it not been included in any of the new developments over the last 10 years? Please sign this and also attend the City Council meeting on Oct 18 at 7pm, at City Hall and tell the City NO!!
