Make the City of CSL take responsibility for the pipes under their city streets

Are you aware that the sewage pipe from your home to the main line under the street is your responsibility to repair even if there was no negligence on your part?
Our home’s sewage pipe collapsed under the street and we just had to pay to tear up the street, sidewalk, replace the pipe, refill the hole and pave the street and sidewalk at our own expense.
Do you have an extra $20 000 to $30 000 thousand to spend on an expense like this? Most people don’t yet the city has done nothing to help.
We don’t want you to find yourself in the same situation. The City of Montreal stepped in three years ago and changed their bylaw. http://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/montreal-homeowners-will-no-longer-be-responsible-for-pipes-on-city-property
Please sign this petition and make the City of CSL take responsibility for their streets and use our city taxes to help residents. It’s bad enough it happened to us, we don’t want you to find yourself in the same situation.
