Private renting like everything else is going through the roof. Im dreading my rent going up as I simply won't be able to afford it. Maybe if there was a cap on how much landlords could charge, people would be able to save some money and even purchase their own property? 

This would also save the government millions in housing benefits.

If the cap was placed at the same rate as housing benefits, there wouldn't be so much homelessness as people could afford their rent and there wouldn't be so much of a housing crisis.

On the plus side landlords wouldn't have to spend thousands on repairing properties or evicting tenants. 

It's a win win.
