The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history. The United States is the only country that has not ratified the treaty.

Ratifying the Convention on the Rights of the Child would provide a comprehensive framework that governs the rights of children as well as better addresses challenges and hardships that children and their families face. The Convention sets standards for the rights of children. 

Children in the U.S. continue to face adversity, as the concept of child's rights is not something that is widely discussed or even prioritized by our government. According to the Children's Defense Fund, a child is abused or neglected every 47 seconds in American. Up to 1,844 each day.
