5n2, a Scarborough-based food charity is calling on the community to help persuade the Corporate Real Estate Management and Social Development, Finance & Administrations from the City of Toronto to grant us units 36-37 at 705 Progress Ave. during the upcoming selection process in September.

705 Progress Ave. was granted as a part of the Community Space Tenancy program out of 5n2's necessity to relocate but is now available to all interested charities and nonprofits. This unit would answer 5n2's need to relocate as we face a lease termination at 2050 Ellesmere Rd. We have also outgrown our space to serve the people who need our services. By signing this petition, you are helping us continue our mission of fighting food insecurity in our communities, our vision to create equitable access to food supports in marginalized communities. Our core values are compassion, integrity, and collaboration. Without relocation, we would be forced to scale back our operations by a significant amount if the space is not granted to us.

5n2 has been operative since 2013, and we have not closed our doors for a single day since the pandemic to serve 3500 meals through our 5 food programs by food rescue. Our Founder, Seema David was awarded as a ScarbTO Hero for Outstanding Community Action and Service by the Scarborough anchor institutions Centennial College, Toronto Zoo, Scarborough Health Network, and the University of Toronto. Food insecurity is not just about the food at 5n2; we go above and beyond to ensure great food quality and quantity. We strive to provide nourishing and flavourful food for all.
