Hemant Mandaliya started this petition to Corporate employees

Working Saturdays and Sundays are the bane of a corporate employee's life. Let's abolish them. While the developed countries in the West are moving towards 4 working days, corporate organisations in India are ruthless and think non-working days are a privilege and not a human necessity. As a country, we are already the most vacation-deprived nation. Having 26 to 24 working days in a month is inhuman to say the least.

The advantages of two non-working days in a week:

One day (let's say, Saturday) you reserve for your spouse, kids or family or friends and the other day (Sunday, Duh!) for yourself, where you can pamper yourself, learn a new hobby, have some down-time, laze around or spend some much deserved me-time, so, when you go back to work on Monday, you go happy and well-rested.

  • It will boost productivity.
  • It will create a happy, motivated workforce.
  • It will save electricity and will have a positive impact on the environment.
  • It will lead to a healthy work-life balance.
  • It will lead to less deaths due to overwork.
  • It will lead to a healthier workforce.
  • It will help the organisations economically due to cost-cutting (less consumption of electricity, internet, water, elevators and so forth)

While these are just some of the advantages, I have mentioned, I am sure there are many more.
