CNUSD Virtual Teachers started this petition to Corona Norco Unified School District and

Teachers need the option of whether or not to return on campus to instruct Virtual School.

In July 2020, Corona-Norco Unified School District and CNTA (approved by the CNUSD School Board) wrote a Memorandum of Understanding contract which states, "Article XX. b. iii. Expectations for reporting to a worksite will be aligned to the expectations for all other Unit Members based on the instructional model in place in the district."

What this means is that teachers who volunteered to teach for the Virtual School option due to health issues will be forced to return to campus.  Many teachers who volunteered to instruct Virtual School did so because they or their family members are at high-risk for serious health complications or death from COVID19.

We are asking the District and School Board to consider the impact a forced return to campus will have on not just Virtual Teachers, but also their students.  If Virtual Teachers are forced to return on campus, many will take a disability or Family Medical Leave.  This will mean that students will have long-term substitute teachers in their place.  This is not effective for students and learning.  We need to stand up for what is best for our students and families!

Basically, if you think teachers should be given the choice to continue to work safely from home, please sign this petition.
