Saltash Leisure Centre, as are another 4 Cornish Leisure Centres, is under threat of closure, due to lack of finance over the course of the COVID 19 pandemic lock downs. Cornwall County Council have stated they are no longer able to support GLL ( the company that owns the leisure centre) to recover post COVID. If GLL does not get the financial support required, it will close in March 2022. This would be an absolute travesty not only for Saltash but surrounding areas including Plymouth. It is not only essential for people's health and well being, it's also a great social environment. Children from 14 schools, Caradon swimming club and the RNLI are just some of the users of the Leisure Centre, apart from the general public.
