STRAW FREE FALMOUTH

Let's help make Falmouth & Penryn the first area in the UK to go STRAW FREE!! In the UK alone, around 8.5bn straws are discarded every year - often ending up in our oceans; and take HUNDREDS of years to decompose. More than 50% of turtles have consumed plastic, 70-90% of marine debris is plastic, and a vast amount of this is from plastic straws alone. Living in Cornwall and being lucky enough to be swim/surf/dive in and around so many beautiful beaches it's especially important to keep our oceans clean!

Let's get Falmouth food & drink businesses to pledge to going completely straw free or use biodegradable paper straws in their place!

Being at the University of Exeter's Penryn campus, we pride ourselves at being a very eco-friendly campus - however with every Stannary event hundreds of straws are simply thrown away at the end of the night, so lets firstly get FXU to make a change!
