Koala Karlous is a new pop up solar powered Coffee Van based on Esplanade Road, South Fistral Beach (Newquay) We serve a range of Fresh Origin Coffee, Homemade Cakes and an online Yogawear brand in which you can click and collect. 

Living in Newquay and surfing Fistral for the last 4 years I felt it was the right time to have a mobile takeaway coffee van down in Pentire. In March 2020 I lost my job at as a signed touring artist in which I had been signed since I was a teenager. With no help or funding for musicians I went out and made the most of a bad situation to keep above water. This was when I decided to set up Koala Karlous a fully independent project. 

So far it's been going great and i really appreciate everyone who has stopped by and returning locals. However there is always someone out there to make it difficult for you. Cornwall Council have been amazing and a huge help with my venture. The issue I'm having is a handful of locals in the Pentire area that are trying to shut me down for no reason what so ever. I receive complaints from these people daily, taking photos of me and my partner and finding anything to complain about to the council. I've had verbal abuse and constant harassment from these people who have way too much time on their hands. The bottom line is I have done nothing wrong. I comply with everything the council has asked of me. I'm fully Sustainable. I recycle everything that's used or throw in my bin. I've spent over 5K Making the Solar powered coffee a thing! I feel the 98 percent of people in the Local area are stoked to have the van there which shows in my sales. So I don't want to let a couple of Dudes shut me down and ruin it for everyone in the area. It took me 3 months to get my licence and a court hearing to get this spot to trade because of these objects. Now that I have it they are still trying to get rid off the coffee shop. Maybe if they knew a little more about what someone had gone and was going through before trying to make someone else's life even harder than it already is. I'm not asking for Much I just want to be able to bring something good to the community and sell some good coffee to people who want it.
