Online classes have always been an option for higher learning across the country. Generally, classes taught this way are cheaper, and this is due to the use of less resources.
It seems fairly obvious that students who have paid for access to these resources are entitled to a partial refund when they can no longer use them. The students (including myself) are struggling financially right now and the college is bleeding us dry without anything to show for it. If student success is the goal then getting us this refund should be top priority.

If the college cant provide what was paid for, this feels morally and legally correct

These students are going into debt for an education that they are not receiving in full at this time. They paid for in person instruction and facility use. It is clear that they should receive reduction for this time. This is the right thing to do.

Being a voice for my friends still at Cornish. They shouldn’t have to pay a modified education. Especially when vital resources were cut to the programs prior to Covid-19.

I believe that this needs to happen. Not only as an obligation to the students for the resources we cannot use but also to the school as a non-profit and the resources they have paid for, without use, and the resources they haven’t paid for that are not being used for the rest of the semester.

I believe, as a dance major at Cornish college of the arts that I am fundamentally loosing out on months of technical dance training that I cannot receive in the confines of my apartment. Without the studio space, professional instruction and in person feedback, let alone room to dance I believe it is only right that Cornish gives tuition credits to students for the fall 2020 semester. This can be calculated in many ways. I would like to see all the performances, experience based physical classes and any other "in person only" classes added up in credits and taken off of our tuition costs for Fall of 2020. We all understand the hardship that covid-19 is bringing to this economy. I understand that if Cornish were to give a complete refund for this semester to every student they would have to close their doors. This is not what we want. We are simply asking for some help from the establishment we have paid our time, effort, life and thousands of dollars to for some, one year and others four. We want the education we paid for and this is simply not it. How can you work with us?

Signed because I believe the admin at Cornish can do better! As a class of 2016 art and oworks graduate, the experiences I got (and paid for) couldn't have happened online. While all the seniors want to graduate "on time" they know they are missing out on a lot due to this global pandemic. Please do the right thing by lowering the cost of online tuition since they wont have access to any in person resources like labs, equipment, space, etc
